Experimentelle Musik: Music as a lecture / Lecture as music
Online
A lecture is the staging of a knowledge and therefore a real performance. From the second half of the XXth century, the use of words as an aesthetic context has taken a significant place through the works of contemporary composers. With Lecture on nothing, John Cage has questioned the boundaries of semantics and sound and has defined the lecturing as a performing genre in itself.
This course will invite students to develop their own text-related compositions, through an exploration in the works of XXth and XXIst century composers such as John Cage, George Aperghis, Antoine Beuger, Tom Johnson, Robert Ashley, Yoko Ono, Alvin Lucier, Jeanet Cardiff, Felicia Atkinson, Karl Holmqvist, León Ferrari or Laurie Anderson.
Leitung: Martin Bauer, Komponist, Buenos Aires und Alexandre Babel, Schlagzeuger, Berlin / Genf
Kurssprache: englisch / deutsch
