Neues Musiktheater
UdK Berlin, Bundesallee 1-12, Probensaal
Ziteng Ye, Sensory World
The „Sensory World“ composition stands out for its intuitively crafted sheet music, which mirrors the nuanced alterations in the performers‘ facial characteristics, expressed through the progression of traditional music. It integrates facial expressions, facial/body movements, emotional variances, and choral elements as equally vital components of the compositional material, thereby extending music into the realm of theater to some extent.
Performer:innen: Laris Bäucker, Ziteng Ye, Shengteng Zhang
Hatem Hamdy, Innate wrongness
"I like to explore banal situations that are, in fact, not as banal as they appear to be. This piece aims to explore simple everyday moments between people, but also simple everyday sounds and motifs, and expand on those. I find that beauty comes from starting at a point of simplicity, and then exploring and expanding."
Performer:innen: Hatem Hamdy, Moritz Tostmann und Tzu-Yin, Hannes Vonmetz, Ta-Hsiang Liao (Percussion)
Raimonda Žiūkaitė, The church of mad, love, is such a holy place to be
"At the turn of the 20th century, Friedrich Nietzsche proclaimed that ‘God is dead and that man had killed him’. This created an arrogance with man that he himself was God. But as God, all he could seem to produce was disaster." (David Bowie in the film Moonage Daydream).
''The church of man(,) love, is such a holy place to be'' (David Bowie in the song Moonage Daydream).
''The church of mad(,) love.... (Raimonda's misheard lyrics of that song).
"The show about longing for the extraordinary."
